Fund participants

Credit institutions - Fund participants of Deposit Guarantee Sectoral Fund

  • Credit institutions registered in Estonia and Estonian branches of foreign credit institutions (except Estonian branches of foreign credit institutions which guarantee and compensate the deposits to the same or a higher level than prescribed by the Guarantee Fund Act).
  • Credit institutions are the companies that have received an activity license of a credit institution from the Financial Supervision Authority. They may raise deposits from public and also provide the investment services.

Investment institutions - Fund participants of Investor Protection Sectoral Fund

  • Investment institution registered in Estonia and the Estonian branches of foreign investment institution (except Estonian branches of foreign investment institutions, which guarantee and compensate the investments to the same or a higher level than prescribed by the Guarantee Fund Act).
  • Investment institutions are investment firms, credit institutions and fund management companies that provide investment services on the basis of the activity licenses issued by the Financial Supervision Authority. 
  • Fund management companies must hold activity licenses issued by the Financial Supervision Authority with the right to provide securities portfolio management or securities safekeeping services.

Management companies of mandatory pension funds - Fund participants of Pension Protection Sectoral Fund

  • Mandatory pension fund management companies that hold activity licenses for fund management issued by the Financial Supervision Authority with the right to provide mandatory pension fund management.

Life insurance companies - Fund participants of Annuity Protection Sectoral Fund

  • Life insurance companies or insurers are life insurance companies operating in Estonia on the basis of activity licenses issued by the Financial Supervision Authority that have the right to enter into insurance contracts for mandatory funded pension with policyholders.
